Lily Charities is on a mission to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty in Bangladesh by empowering children with the gift of literacy. Through our partnerships with local schools, we build sustainable libraries that provide vital access to books, fostering a love for reading and learning. Locally led and internationally supported, Lily Charities works hand-in-hand with schools to ensure that every child can build a brighter future.
To accomplish our mission, we have developed a three-pronged set of values: Integrity, Transparency, and Strategic Impact.
- Integrity – Our word and reputation matters. We will seek to do everything in our power to keep our promises to the communities we serve and our donors, regardless of who is watching. We believe this to be the only sustainable foundation for a long-term, impact-driving organization. Thanks to several larger private donors, 100% of our public donations (including credit card fees) go to in-country projects and operations to bless the people of Bangladesh.
- Transparency – To help our donors see the tremendous impact of their donations, we seek to give as much information as possible regarding our projects. Together, we are transforming and changing the lives of many—this should include the lives of our donors and project teams. We want everyone involved to know and see how, together, we are making the world a better place, one child and locale at a time.
- Strategic Impact – Lives changed > money raised. We are interested in doing good more than looking like we are doing good. Better measuring the outcomes of our involvement is very important to us.
